Sunday and Monday are my days off. I talked about this is a previous post about having two days off in a row. On Sunday, I go to church, usually do the laundry, sometimes babysit my grandsons. Monday is my real “day of rest”. It’s the day when I get to do whatever I like. I should be able to lay around watch TV, see a movie, go to the mall, perhaps take a day trip. So far it has not worked out this way. Apparently I’m doing something wrong. Housework has taken the place of time off.
Today, I find myself doing nothing but housework: laundry, going through mail, dusting, etc. As I am doing all this I think, these are things that should be automatic. At first I suggested to myself out loud that I would never again put my clothes away. As I did cleaned dishes and cookware from last evening I thought about buying paper plates and disposable cutlery. But then again no. Instead, I need, like in an old episode of I Dream of Jeannie, all the housework to be fully automated.
I’ve compiled a list of housework chores I no longer wish to do as they are a waste of my oh, so valuable time.
2. Cleaning the dishes.
4: Taking out the trash.
6: Laundry: I have a Flip and fold. It makes folding easier but I’M STILL DOING ALL THE WORK!
7.Cutting the grass.
8. Dusting: it’s a dirty word.
9. Walking the dog.
10. Making the bed.
11. I’d add showering, shaving and brushing my teeth but a man’s gotta be clean!
Please feel free to add your most undesirable housework chores to this list. Once I can quit having to do these things I can spend more time writing and maybe finally get to travel.
